You know, no matter what you do for a living, odds are you see various trade publications, newsletters, articles, magazines, whether in your break room or online, dealing with the type of work that you do. As President of a credit union, I definitely see my fair share.  But, when a national publication puts an article out that could potentially impact our members, and that I think is worthy of taking notice, just for your own personal information, I think it’s good to share that with you.

USA Today, recently published an article entitled, Big Banks Hit Customers with Higher Fees, and More of Them, by Katherine Yung of the Detroit Free Press.

I’ll post a link to the article below, however it got me to thinking … in this economy, where gas prices are nearly $4.00 a gallon and grocery prices are on the rise. Can you really afford being nickeled and dimed by your bank? Perhaps you don’t care, everyone is different. But on the other hand, maybe after reading this article, it may just light the fire that you need to do a side-by-side comparison of what you may or will be paying at a bank, in comparison to what a credit union will do for you. There’ s never been a better time to compare! But, I’ll let you read the article, and you be the judge!
